Event Description This training will explore why all humans are vulnerable to trauma even before they are born. It will enable you to look at what you can do to better support those impacted by a traumatic start in childhood and understand how and why early trauma affects
children's, adolescent's and adult's:

· Behaviours

· Mental health

· Physical wellbeing

· Eating

· Sleeping

· Self-medicating strategies

· Access to joy and play

· Life-long learning

· Forming relationships for life


Key Modules to support Your Learning:


1. Understanding different forms of trauma


2. How trauma shapes the body, brain, health and behaviours


3. How to be a ‘safe' practitioner when working with children, young people and adults


Modules will be underpinned by:

Tools

Exercises in the modules will offer opportunities for you to experience what emotional and physical safety looks and feels like (Participation is always optional).


The training is delivered by Jane Evans, Jane has worked with children, families, and individuals for 25 years. She is an internationally renowned childhood trauma expert, and parenting coach.
 
Event Outcomes This training will support you to build your toolkit of knowledge, resources and skills which will enable you to intentionally provide a sense of safety when you are being with a child, adolescent or adult, who may have experienced early trauma.

Event Charges Notes This event is fully funded for Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch Early Help Staff only. For all others attendees the course is chargeable at £55 per delegate.

Event Notes Please note drinks refreshments are provided but delegates will need to bring or purchase their own lunch. There is a café on site which serves panini's and toasted sandwiches (NB: the venue has asked that individuals order this on arrival to ensure it is ready for the lunch break.)
